The horn is one of the orchestra's most beautiful instruments – time to get to know it better! José Sogorb Jover demonstrates the versatility of his instrument through a wide range of 19th-century chamber music. Between Beethoven's Horn Sonata and Vaughan Williams' romantic Quintet, there is also room for lesser-known names: discover the music of composing horn players Frédéric Duvernoy and Franz (Richard's father) Strauss, a moody nocturne by Friedrich Wilhelm Voigt and an inventive trio by Carl Reinecke.

Musicians of the Concertgebouw Orchestra perform their own programmes in the Recital Hall as part of the Close-up chamber music series.
