Beethoven Festival with Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century

Three days of highlights from the master: the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century celebrates the Beethoven Festival. From 23 to 25 May you will hear symphonies and solo concertos – one of each. Pianist Alexander Melnikov chooses one of the piano concertos. Cappella Amsterdam is a guest in the vocal final movement of the Ninth Symphony . Freud, Freud! You will also hear the First Symphony and the Third Symphony , 'Eroica', among others. A beautiful sample card. Today Alena Baeva is the soloist in the Violin Concerto .

Russian violinist Alena Baeva released an album in 2021 featuring Beethoven's Violin Concerto . 'Remarkably strong and precise', Crescendo called her 'Olympic game'. Pizzicato spoke of a 'delicate and contrasting' interpretation. The Violin Concerto is followed by the First Symphony . Alexander Janiczek, as concertmaster, leads the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century in this energetic work.
