Ashley Henry's music reflects where he comes from: London in all its diversity, where jazz is open to influences from different cultures and generations. The 28-year-old pianist is working on the follow-up to his debut album Beautiful Vinyl Hunter, on which he collaborated with forerunners of the new jazz generation, such as Theo Croker, Keyon Herrold, Makaya McCraven and Binker & Moses.

Piano talent blurs the boundaries between jazz, grime and hip-hop
Ashley Henry grew up surrounded by all kinds of different forms of music and art that still influence him today, from painters to ballet dancers, from Freddie Mercury to Abdullah Ibrahim and from British rappers from the grime scene to American hip-hop. This autumn, he celebrated success with his piano trio at the Super-Sonic Jazz festival in Paradiso, Amsterdam.
The supporting act is provided by Brintex Collective. This young band from Rotterdam is inspired by the UK jazz scene of which Ashley Henry is a part and makes a fresh mix of hip-hop, electronic music and jazz. In the spring of 2023 they will release their first EP.
