Arabella Steinbacher plays Bruch's First Violin Concerto

Max Bruch's First Violin Concerto is a favorite among violin concertos. A hit since the premiere. The yearning melodies and the stirring orchestral part: they are addictive. Bruch himself could not have expected the success of his piece, he sold the rights to his publisher for a small amount. As a result, he did not see his bank account grow from the many performances that followed. Arabella Steinbacher, the violinist on duty, will not make the music sound any less.

Smetana's Vltava

From its first murmur as a small stream to its majestic mouth in the Elbe , The Vltava is an impressive musical painting. There is no indication that Smetana was dissatisfied with his craftsmanship at an earlier stage of his career. He returned to Prague to thoroughly study counterpoint and harmony – melodic insights abounded. This symphonic poem testifies to the overwhelming mastery that characterizes the fifty-year-old composer. Dvořák's Fifth Symphony completes this romantic evening.
