An Intergalactic Night
Space is the Place
Space is the Place presents a very special edition of the Intergalactic Nights, illustrious evenings with performances in all shapes and sizes including BarParp7090: during the breaks the music installation BarParp7090 takes over: a piano-harp (parp) creation by Koen Kaptijn and Nora Mulder.
Rafaele Andrade
The knurl is an interactive, cello-like instrument by Brazilian artist Rafaele Andrade. She is constantly looking for new possibilities in the field of acoustic and electronic sound. She plays her own compositions on the string instrument she developed herself.
Hamraaz
This duo consists of Lucie Lelaurain on cloth and flute and Khordshid Dadbeh on tanbur and tär. Together they play compositions inspired by the maqam music from the Middle East. In this way they make the link between their own time and the age-old musical cultures of their ancestors from Iran and Armenia.
Koen Boeijinga
His impressive collection of instruments on stage includes both existing and self-built instruments. Koen Boeijinga improvises with repetitive forms, where old and modern music coincide. His performances draw on the primal power of music and thus provide a counterbalance to the restless digital society.
Dianne Verdonk
Dianne Verdonk makes partly acoustic and partly electronic instruments, which can also be regarded as art objects in their own right. As a classically trained double bassist and cellist, she combines her various talents in unique objects with unusual designs, such as the vocal instrument Bellyhorn, the rhythmic pendulum Pulseyarn and the performance amplifier La Diantenne.
