Both immerse you in a completely new experience of time and space in their own unique way: Frey with his serene, tranquil sound world and Glass with his characteristic hypnotic patterns.

In both minimalist compositions, continuity is not formed by a linear progression of melody, but use is made of resonance, fragility of sounds, silence and the slow transformation of repetitive motifs.

The adventurous quartets Amstel Quartet and Matangi Quartet are masters in interpreting minimal music and do so frequently. Like no other, they are able to take you on this sonic journey through the sound world of contemporary composers Jürg Frey & Philip Glass.
