A Child of Our Time

Michael Tippett's A Child of Our Time (1941) and Ralph Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem (1936) are two monumental works that both convey powerful messages of hope and peace. Tippett's and Vaughan Williams' works are very different in style, but both composers use impressive choruses and orchestrations to raise the human voice against the challenges of their time – and ours.

Toonkunstkoor Amsterdam performs both works with Het Orkest. Conductor is Boudewijn Jansen.
