A concert, poetry performance, and a yin yoga class in one. This is the formula of the weekly yoga concerts. This morning, pianist Maite Hes will bring her improvisations to the mat, André Meeusen will design the yin yoga around a poem.

Neoclassical improvisations

Maite Hes has been part of the yoga concerts from the very beginning. With her talent for improvisation she interprets pieces of composers like Max Richter, Yann Tiersen and Joep Beving, and also improvises from her own work.

Yin Yoga

The calm, meditative but intense postures of yin yoga allow to sink deeper into consciousness, beyond the patterns of the mind. On the yogamat, physical sensations weave together with the musical improvisations. The mind becomes quieter, opening space to meet the music and poetry in the heart.

Practical info

Venue open: 10:45 am.

Bring your mat, warm clothes, and a water bottle and props if you want. If you don’t have a mat, there's limited possibility to borrow one. The yoga instructions and poetry will be bilingual.
