The Javaplein branch of the Amsterdam Public Library houses a collection of 46,000 books as well as 12,000 CDs, movies, games and audiobooks. Special facilities include a music listening area and a reading room offering 200 newspapers and periodicals in Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic and Urdu. In addition, the library regularly hosts author events, workshops and a changing array of art exhibitions.
