Tips for ADE 2022

Every year, the most talented names in dance music bring the capital to life for Amsterdam Dance Event. By mid-October, all potential spaces in the city are filled with DJ talent, industry professionals and party-goers, from Ziggo Dome to Paradiso and every venue and record store in between. Didn’t score tickets yet? These are our top tips for ADE 2022.

Eclectic events and parties @ Volkshotel

VolkshotelCanvas and Doka join the ADE programming with a diverse and extensive mélange of festivities:

  • Wednesday, 19 October // Toi Toi Musik (live) - multi-layered electro-acoustic performances in a conceptualised evening concert
  • Thursday, 20 October // United Identities - headed by label boss Carista, United Identities takes over sound bar Doka
  • Friday, 21 October // LOCH INN - local artists hand in unreleased tracks and raw demos from their hard drives for Margie to play on Doka’s immersive sound system
  • Saturday, 22 October // Yoga ADE special - catch your breath with a guided yoga session accompanied by a DJ
  • Saturday, 22 October // Good Music Vinyl Market - browse for bargains with genres ranging from Italo disco to funk, soul and techno
  • Saturday, 22 October // Many Møre x Toy Tonics - The two collectives join forces for a steamy house and Italo club night at Canvas
  • Sunday, 23 October // Minimal Collective - a day-time rave of fast-paced, futuristic, and trance-induced soundscapes

Sweet Harmony: OUT OF THE UNDERGROUND exhibition @ Het HEM

Check out works by artists from or inspired by rave culture in the spectacular industrial space of the former ammunition factory, Het HEM. The exhibition highlights the artistic heritage of clubbing culture and the visual art practices which emerged from it.

Bordello A Parigi @ Noorderlicht

Zeedijk-based label Bordello A Parigi returns to hippie-esque Noorderlicht at NDSM. Anyone familiar with this record store, located in a basement in the Red Light District, knows what a funky Italo party this will be. Alexander Robotnick, I-F, Loud-E & Bárbara Boeing will take their spot behind the turntables.

Record Fair @ Feed

Enjoy a day of digging for all music enthusiasts at this record fair with performances by Facts On Wax, Deja Bruh and Palo Santo Discos.

DGTL ADE @ NDSM Warehouse

This year’s lineup is undoubtedly one of the most extensive DGTL programmes to date. Warm yourself up with a special concert by French prodigy Worakls and a 30-headed orchestra on Thursday. Venture into the brighter side of electronic with Fatima Yamaha and Floating Points on Friday, and wrap up your weekend with some of the hottest names in techno on Saturday. More acts are to be announced.

Rush Hour @ LoFi

A record label that needs no introduction, Rush Hour is a household name for fans of electronic music in Amsterdam and abroad. They’ll be returning to LoFi during ADE for a collaboration with Rainbow Disco Club on Saturday. Throughout the week, you can swing by their record shop on Spuistraat to dig for vinyl in all genres, including house, techno, and disco, but also special collections of South American and African music. You can also catch DJs spinning records for in-store parties. Keep an eye on socials for announcements.

Our House - Electronic Dance Music Museum

Learn more about dance culture with a trip to the World’s first electronic dance music museum. Explore the genre's roots through educational exhibits curated by top DJs and event organisers, see real memorabilia, test your beat-matching skills on custom-made mixers, or dig your way through crates full of iconic tracks.
