Established in 1923, the theatre maintains the traditions of marionette art and puppetry while also blending in new ideas. Numerous characteristic puppets perform with humour and passion, accompanied by poetic music and set in colourful stage settings. Some of the theatre’s most popular fairytales include Rumpelstiltskin, Pinocchio, Puss in Boots and The Magic Violin. Productions are in Dutch, but the music and visuals of these performances ensure that non-Dutch speaking young (and old) audiences will be utterly entranced by the stories. And after the performance, visitors can take a peek behind the scenes and even take a poster home.
