In 'Third Space' a diverse group of players (re)distributes the space on the basis of the themes 'home', 'language' and 'hospitality'.
According to the philosopher Derrida, the ideas of 'home' (a house or a country) and 'hospitality' are directly linked. But what if you don't have a home? What if you speak another language or several at the same time, where do you feel at home?
'Third Space' is a location performance with stories of emigrants and those who stay at home about travel and (imaginary) cities. In a multilingual interplay, the players take you on a tour of imaginary cities, inspired by Italo Calvino's 'Invisible Cities'. A third, hybrid space full of stuff, stories, languages, memories, music and dreams that still have to be given a place. A quest to involve the public in making a common home.
