An energy-efficient play about life and extinction
Drawing on both her personal thoughts and scientific research, she articulates our shared fear and despair about the current situation of the world and links the death of the mother to the fear of the disappearance of humanity.
In her search for a way to make theater in a responsible, energy-efficient way, theater director Katie Mitchell developed a concept for a performance in which only the text and a set of rules for the performance travel. It is performed in each country by a local cast and crew. One of the rules is that all energy used for the performance must be generated visibly for the audience.
