Toots and the Maytals are back in the Melkweg! Since the early 60s already these founders of reggae let us hear how music from Jamaica can swing. In 1968 the band released the single 'Do the Reggay', which lay the roots for the word reggae, and in the following years classics like '54-46', 'Monkey Man', 'Funky Kingston' and 'Pressure Drop' followed. The 50th anniversary of the origination of reggae is celebrated this year with a tour, two new documentaries, some new compilations and maybe even a new studio album. The flame of this recently by Rolling Stone magazine voted most important reggae singer after Bob Marley continues to burn brightly!
