Bas Schippers (1992) completed his education at the AKI in Enschede last year. While he mainly focuses on the themes of masculinity and vulnerability, Bas uses stereotypes and clichés to question these subjects. His raw and wild brushstrokes show the confusion of growing up and having to conform to a certain ideal. In contrast, carefully painted motifs and geometric patterns balance the work - check out @bas.schippers Instagram.
Kee van der Meer
Kee van der Meer (1995) makes films, installations and conceptual pieces. Her work stems from research into language and is motivated by emotion, such as anger. Her films focus on the inability of communication used to visualise reality, the attempt at dialogue, the dissonance between form and content and the dysfunctions of language. In short, the lack of clear references are core elements in the work, transformed into art, language becomes an ornament. Kee van der Meer currently lives and works in Rotterdam - check out @keevdmeer Instagram.
