Still as strong after 30 years

Levellers was founded in 1988 in Brighton, England. The name is derived from a radical faction of Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army, but also refers to the relatively flat area in Brighton from which most of the band members originated. From their first show, Levellers were a band that attracted an avid fan base.

The collective from Brighton has already released eleven studio albums, of which 'Levelling The Land' from 1991 remains the absolute classic. Levellers set the record for most headliners at a headline show at the legendary Glastonbury Festival, playing in front of 300,000 people in 1994.
