Improvisation based on (Afro-)Brazilian traditions

The Milton Banana Trio and the Zimbo Trio were Floris van Elderen's first major sources of inspiration to delve into the extensive tradition of Brazilian music and get to the root of it as much as possible.

In the arrangements, the trio tries to incorporate traditional Brazilian rhythmic elements as templates for improvisation, borrowed from (Afro-)Brazilian traditions such as Samba, Forró, Maracatu, Jongo and Ijexá.
