‘I bring energy, not the typical complicated solo’, says Tini Thomsen about her band MaxSax. She plays baritone sax, not like Gerry Mulligan or Pepper Adams, but rocking and pounding like Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age.
The Hamburg-born saxophonist has made name playing with various orchestras and big bands, as well as performing with famous pop stars. In 2003 she established herself in Amsterdam, where she studied saxophone alongside composition and bass clarinet.
