On his 90th birthday, Theo Loevendie presents a feast of music featuring The Wellingtonians and Swinging Strings, a collective of wonderful string players and jazz musicians. His orchestral and operatic works are performed all over the world, but in the 1960s and 70s he played saxophone in jazz bands. The band will play both new and well-known compositions by Loevendie. Theo Loevendie is mainly known as one of the most adventurous post-war-composers in The Netherlands. Connecting classical and traditional music from various cultures, he has won many awards. Later in life he started playing piano in jazz clubs, to play his own pieces with respected jazz musicians.
