Rough Diamonds Around Midnights means short, free admissable sets after the regular programme in which you can discover the talents of the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. This edition: the Hristo Goleminov Quartet. Drawing inspiration from a plethora of musical sources, Hristo Goleminov’s music reflects both his diverse musical past – a strong classical background coupled with a more recent focus on jazz – and his current experience in the often busy and mostly rainy city of Amsterdam. This project is his latest attempt at navigating his ideas together with like-minded young musicians. The music crosses the various paths between composition and improvisation, with a strong sense of harmony, counterpoint, and a particular focus on strong melodies.
