Pablo Martin Caminero
is a high-profile double bassist from Madrid's flamenco jazz scene. In addition to his own compositions, he also plays flamenco guitar classics, arranged for piano, bass and drums. A typical jazz line-up, with a classical piano edge. The album Al Toque promises a lot of good, namely pieces by string wizards like Sabicas, Manolo Sanlucar and Paco de Lucía.
Flamenco and jazz make a happy marriage.
The genre is in full development, especially in Madrid, with young, new bands and musicians who are energetically working on their way. The top of this new generation will perform in the program The Art of the Jazz Flamenco Trio, as part of the Flamenco Biennale that takes place this year in Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht.
