Omer Klein

With Personal Belongings Omer Klein made his most personal album to date. During the lockdown he composed six solo pieces and four songs for his acoustic trio. In the recordings, the tension is palpable between stillness and energy, between seclusion and camaraderie.

In the BIMHUIS the trio plays songs from Personal Belongings and from previous albums. Pianist Omer Klein belongs to the group of young Israeli musicians who are making themselves known in international jazz. In New York, he played with trumpeter Avishai Cohen and bandleader Omer Avital and released an album on John Zorn's Tzadik label. Today he lives in Germany, but still works with his regular trio with bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo and drummer Amir Bresler. The three musicians are so attuned to each other that they have found their own style that is more than just a mixture of Western and Eastern music.
