Passionate piano playingPianist Marcin Waslisewki’s trio is very close; these three Polish musicians celebrate their 25th year together. For a long period they have played with jazz trumpet hero Tomasz Stanko.
With him they share a love for film composer Krysztof Komeda, who made captivating soundtracks for, among others, Rosemary’s Baby by Roman Polanski. The trio’s impressive repertory includes original compositions alongside works by Komeda, Herbie Hancock, Prince, The Police and others. The Marcin Wasilewski Trio is at the top of Polish jazz and celebrates international success as well.
Pianist Marcin Wasilewski was included in the Downbeat Critics Polls and has won a Paul Acket Award at North Sea Jazz. The trio released several albums on the renowned label ECM. Their most recent album Live was recorded at the Jazz Middelheim festival in Antwerp. ‘One of the best piano trios of this moment.
