Singer-songwriter Lenine made his mark on Brazilian music with subtle, lived-through songs sung by celebrities such as Maria Bethânia, Gilberto Gil and Milton Nascimento. Having previously arranged Lenine's songs for his orchestra, now pianist Martin Fondse invites his Brazilian friend for an intimate duo concert.
The programme will shed new light on their album The Bridge, inspired by the Maurício de Nassau Bridge in Recife. This replica of a bridge over the River Amstel in Amsterdam symbolises the history between Brazil and The Netherlands. The concert connects compositions by Fondse with true gems from Lenine’s songbook.
