Singer-songwriter Lenine has made his mark in Brazilian music with subtle, lived-through songs sung by celebrities such as Maria Bethânia, Gilberto Gil and Milton Nascimento. Pianist Martin Fondse has previously arranged Lenine’s songs for his orchestra. Now he invites his Brazilian friend for an intimate duo concert shedding new light on their album The Bridge, inspired by the Maurício de Nassau Bridge in Recife. This replica of a bridge on the river Amstel in Amsterdam symbolizes the history between Brazil and The Netherlands. The concert connects compositions by Fondse with true gems from Lenine’s songbook.
