Rope dance

The quintet is the result of a composition assignment for the North Sea Jazz Festival, for which the bandleader was inspired by classical composers such as Debussy. Big names from Dutch and Belgian jazz play in Rope Dance. Joris Roelofs is coordinator of the Clarinet Jazz department at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and teaches a master's course on music and philosophy entitled Freedom and Improvisation.

Lecture about Nietzsche, Hannah Arendt and improvisation

Before the concert, Joris Roelofs will give a lecture on his philosophy studies. In this lecture, he links the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche to freedom and improvisation in music.
