When it comes to jazz guitar, John Scofield is one of the all-time greats, ever since he played with Miles Davis decades ago. Scofield often looks beyond jazz towards all kinds of genres including country and folk. His new band excels in straight-ahead jazz though, of course with the raw electric edge that ‘Sco’ has become known for. In recent years John Scofield has won an impressive two consecutive Best Jazz Album Grammy Awards as well as a Grammy for best solo. This concert is all about his new album, for which he brought together a quartet featuring Netherlands-born pianist Gerald Clayton, son of double bass maestro John Clayton, and the seasoned rhythm tandem Vicente Archer and Bill Stewart.
