A concert with a story

The story of how they, in collaboration with black musicians, brought jazz music to fruition at a time when this was not self-evident. How they made Broadway and Hollywood big and put the American entertainment business on the map!
Jewish Jazz follows the trail of these developments through biographies, anecdotes and of course fantastic music. Mirjam van Dam and band perform well-known and lesser-known jazz standards and tell the stories about the influence of Eastern European klezmer, Jewish religious music and the overlap with black music.

Musicians:
Mirjam van Dam - lyrics and vocals
Ed Boekee - piano
Roberto Vittorio Haliffi - drums & percussion
Lior Kuperberg - saxophone
Omer Govreen - double bass
