The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw has had a regular concert night at the BIMHUIS for years. In concerts featuring diverse soloists, from Misha Mengelberg to Chris Potter and from Wolter Wierbos to Tom Harrell, the orchestra has developed into a mainstay in the jazz program of the Concertgebouw and became headliner at many international venues and festivals. In 2010 it won the Edison for the album Blues for the Date, which was voted best ‘large ensemble album’ of that year by All About Jazz. The orchestra has collaborated with jazz greats such as Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis, Toots Thielemans, Roy Hargrove, Christian Scott and José James.
