Garage jazz at the BIMHUIS

Sentinel has the feel of a garage band, inspired by the electric guitar virtuosos bandleader Erik Friedlander listened to in his teens. The cellist recorded the first Sentinel album in Brooklyn last year, with guitarist Ava Mendoza and drummer Diego Espinosa . The same three-piece formation now performs at the BIMHUIS. Friedlander made a name for himself in New York's progressive downtown scene, alongside jazz innovators such as John Zorn and Dave Douglas. He developed unique, unusual ways of playing through improvisation. As a studio musician, he has collaborated with Courtney Love and The Mountain Goats, among others. In recent years, he has become increasingly known as a composer of soundtracks for films and series.

The sale for this concert is expected to start at the end of August. For more information and ticket sales, visit the BIMHUIS website .
