The music of guitarist David Golek covers a wide spectrum, with jazz and Middle Eastern music as important pillars. Originally trained as a classical pianist, Golek eventually made himself known as a jazz guitarist, composer and improviser. He’s part of a duo with singer Simin Tander and of various ensembles including Tiltan, with which he created one of the best albums of 2014, according to het Parool. BIMLAB is an improv series in the BIMHUIS café with unexpected musical encounters. For every edition, two curators are selected from the members of the Union of Dutch Improvisers (BIM), who were once the BIMHUIS founders. The curators will invite musicians for an evening of short, adventurous sessions. A co-production with BIM, free entrance for BIM members.
