Catalan and Dutch jazz musicians join forces

The double concerto opens with Alto for Two, the project of alto saxophonist band leaders Kika Sprangers (Nijmegen, 1994) and Irene Reig (Barcelona, 1993). They play 100% own compositions, written from the jazz tradition and at the same time 100% contemporary. Saxophonist Lluc Casares studied in New York at The Juilliard School, with Wynton Marsalis and Kenny Washington, among others. He recently returned to his hometown of Barcelona, where he runs his own label Changes. In the BIMHUIS he plays with his new band, with Dutch guitar pride Jesse van Ruller as special guest.
