The big topics

The theme of the festival’s 2020 edition is ‘Love and death’, and it is expressed by works from a wide variety of composers: from Puccini to Samuel Barber, György Kurtág to Schubert, Janácek to Messiaen,  Bach to Hildegard van Bingen and Wagner to John Dowland, plus quite a lot of Beethoven (as it is his year). Clara Schumann, Alma Mahler and Fanny Mendelssohn get a look-in on International Women’s Day.
Headquartered in Weesp’s handsome Van Houtenkerk, the festival branches out to a variety of locations across the town, including the library and a pub.
