The last concert of his mini-series feels like returning home for Michael Gieler: He started his musical career as a teenager in a professional string quartet in Austria. A quartet concert is therefore the logical closing statement of 'The Viola in my Life'. Together with his colleagues from the Concertgebouw Orchestra, they play three very special masterpieces from chamber music literature.

Ludwig van Beethoven: String quartet in e minor op. 59/2
György Ligeti: String Quartet Nr. 1 'Metamorphoses Nocturnes'
Bedrich Smetana: String Quartet 'From my life'
