Rossini after the operas

Rossini wrote his first opera when he was 18, and over the course of his short 19-year career produced 39 operas. He retired at the height of his fame as a wealthy man with serious health problems. Still, between 1831 and 1842, a great religious work emerged from his pen through trial and error. The Stabat Mater is a genius creation that is considered one of the pinnacles of his oeuvre.

Beethoven's 10th Symphony

Beethoven's friend Karl Holz once said that: 'Beethoven has performed the entire Tenth Symphony with sketches for all the which nobody else could decipher.' British musicologist Barry Cooper tried and in 1988 he came up with an elaborated version of the first movement: 'if only to show what Beethoven left behind in sketch.'
