Low Key Quintet
Five string players with international careers (Myrthe Helder, Maria Kouznetsova, Anna Magdalena den Herder, Ketevan Roinishvili, Uxia Martinez Botana) have found each other in Amsterdam. In the unique composition of string quintet with two violins, alto, cello and double bass, they use the lesser-known chamber music repertoire.
Piece de resistance is Dvorak's opus 77. A piece full of action, virtuosity and also lyricism, in which the double bass lays the foundation, allowing the cello to take on a melodic role. Mendelssohn's third string symphony is also featured in this minimal line-up and Boccherini's third string quintet. The different backgrounds of the ladies, Russian, Georgian, Spanish and Dutch, ensure a concert full of passion, fire and personality.
