Khatchatour Avedissian's Armenian Oratorio was written in 1985 to commemorate the tragic events that took place 70 years earlier. This moving work is complemented by Armenian liturgical and traditional songs. 1000 wings symbolize hope, comfort, resilience and optimism. Originally Armenian musicians with original instruments such as the duduk, the dahol and the kanun complete the Armenian atmosphere.

The Capital Choir sings the Oratorio and the songs in the original Armenian language.

With this concert we celebrate our 70th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of Martin van der Brugge, our conductor. The Hoofdstadkoor sings again!
