Always wanted to know how a 35mm movie is projected and see what goes on backstage at the cinema? During 24H Noord, for the first time, EYE Filmmuseum is opening its projection booths to the public. There are also tours of the group exhibition ‘A Tale of Hidden Histories’, with film and video on truth, interpretation, facts, memories and reality. Do they really exist, or are they all just a construction?

An exhibition of work by Broomberg & Chanarin, Omer Fast, Chia-Wei Hsu and Meiro Koizumi that shows how not only film and video, but also slide projections, documents, photographs and sound can be used to explore, deconstruct and ‘unmask’ stories about history. The artists dissect the structure of stories and expose the subjectivity of historical sources and the limitations of memory. The works in this exhibition concentrate on the history of conflict zones: the places in the world where truth and fiction are thrown into relief.
