How well do Amsterdammers really know the canals? What is the function of canals? Is the water fresh or salty? What will happen to the canals if the sea level rises? Test your canal knowledge with the CanalQuiz. If you get the questions right, you will receive a homemade ice cream with real canal water (while supplies last). Canal Museum Amsterdam is located on Herengracht, in a canal house designed by Philips Vingboons in 1663. The museum is devoted to the history of the canal belt and the water management of the past and the present.
