Patta Running Team: Morning City Run 10km (fully booked)

The Patta Running Team sets out early in the morning and after a joint warm-up, runs a loop past locations for 24H Centrum. Afterwards, participants can enjoy a nice breakfast. Trained runners of different levels are welcome. Please note that with a distance of approximately 10 km, this run is not for beginners.

Condomerie Ins & Outs talk

Director Theodoor van Boven talks about the ins and outs of the world's first condom speciality store, with a special focus on sustainability. The unique store has been CO2 neutral since 2011. Rutger Hauer found this so inspiring that he came up with a new slogan for the store: f*cking green to save the planet!

Qi Gong workshop: use your life force for more vitality (fully booked )

Head over to the Sea Palace floating restaurant and recharge your batteries at the Dao Yin Qi Gong workshop. This ancient Chinese practice combines concentration and balance. It is intended to allow the inner life force (chi) to flow, thus ensuring a healthy mind and body.

Upon the Roof: yoga on the Bijenkorf roof (fully booked)

Wake up with a morning yoga session on the roof of the Bijenkorf, with all of Amsterdam at your feet: it doesn't get any better than this! The reception is on the 6th floor. Afterwards, Bijenkorf will provide a delicious and healthy breakfast for all participants.

Industrieele Groote Club society club tour

The Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club on Dam Square opens its doors to the public for a special tour during 24H Centrum. This is special: the oldest society in Amsterdam is normally only open to members. Discover the impressive interior and hear all about the history of this exclusive club.

Come and meet the people behind the most beautiful Amsterdam products! They proudly tell you how these products are made. 

Palace storytelling for princes and princesses 3+ (fully booked)

Listen to the most beautiful stories about Princess Arabella (by writer Mylo Freeman) during this unique reading event for children (3+) at the Royal Palace. Children can visit the storytelling palace, have their faces painted or can dress so they feel like a real prince or princess.

Tour of Droog (fully booked)

At Droog, nothing is what it seems and nothing seems to be what it is. Located in the city centre of Amsterdam in five adjacent historic buildings, Droog is a kind of labyrinth where each space has its own character, but where everything breathes design. Take a short tour and discover Droog, from the one-room hotel and restaurant to the design exhibition.

Pathé City has been showing the most beautiful arthouse films since 2007. The iconic building itself has been around since 1935. Take a short tour of the theatre, delve into history and take a look at parts of the film theatre that are usually off-limits including the movie booth.

AP Live: Amsterdam from above and below at Allard Pierson

Allard Pierson holds one of the largest map collections in the whole world. During 24H Centrum, beautiful old maps of Amsterdam will be on show, illustrating the development of the Rokin and the University Quarter. The exhibition also brings to the surface the results of the North/South line excavations.

Collecting the City

In the near future, Amstel 51 will be the place where the Amsterdam Museum will collect and present objects from the city. The dynamic collections will be continuously renewing themselves just like the city itself. The first three mini-exhibits explore Amsterdam's colonial past, the Jacob Geelbuurt and the Asian influence on Dutch food culture.

The Upcycle Workshop – make your own belt

At The Upcycle they turn waste into new products. In fact, they believe that there is no such thing as 'waste': it is actually raw material that has ended up in the wrong place. You can make something out of everything!

Feel-Good Morning Session

Hypnosis is a state of consciousness that can bring healing, connection and relaxation. During 24H Centrum you can participate in a small, joint hypnosis session in Melkweg Expo. A positive way to recharge your inner battery. Bring your own yoga mat!

Fire brigade and police hold open house

The fire brigade and the local police force show what they have in store at the IJtunnel. Vehicles, demonstrations and maybe putting out a fire yourself?

Why does Dam Square look the way it does? We often take this large square in the middle of Amsterdam for granted – but it is one of the most changeable city squares in Europe. Learn everything you need to know about Dam Square during this architecture tour, in collaboration with Architour.

Drum machines and the world of dance music museum tour (fully booked)

Electronic dance music culture is everywhere: from Amsterdam to Tokyo and London to Chicago. During this tour through the interactive Our House Museum, Arne van Terphoven takes you into the world of dance music, paying special attention to the rich history of Amsterdam.

Tasting Tour at the Hortus Botanicus (fully booked)

Learn everything about edible nature on this fun, educational and tasty Tasting Tour in the Hortus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. Local producers let you sample their products, from perfectly roasted coffee to a duckweed burger by the pond. This tour is created in collaboration with the Slow Food Youth Network.

Jewish Cultural Quarter history tour (fully booked)

Take a tour of the Jewish Cultural Quarter. Choose between a walk along the Namur Monument (11:00-13:00), take a look at the photo exhibition (12:00-14:00) or discover the fixed museum exhibition (14:00 -4:00 pm). The tours last about an hour and departs twice an hour. 

Street Fashion for life

With the motto 'design your life', the Rambler Studios offer an international fashion platform for unpolished young talent. Young people design, make and sell their own collections here. See live how the clothing is made and hear everything about the philosophy behind this special organisation.

Living in an Amsterdam steeg (small alleyway) in 1663

In 1663, Petrus Parmentier lived at number 28 in the Heintje Hoeksteeg. He was the first priest of the Catholic clandestine church in the canal house next door. Today these buildings form the Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder (Our Lord in the Attic) Museum. See how Parmentier used to live more than 350 years ago during this fascinating tour.

The power of Amsterdam's canals

Museum of the Canals Amsterdam celebrates its 10 years anniversary with all Amsterdammers. Visit the new canal garden and design your own canal garden in the mini-workshop. Or take the CanalQuiz and win a homemade ice cream made from canal water!

Memorabilia Tour

Hard Rock International is the world's largest collector of memorabilia from celebrities from the music and entertainment biz with 86,000 items in the collection. Making the band: Popup Choir

Singing Waterloo on the Waterlooplein on the day of the Eurovision Song Contest? It doesn't get more fitting than this. In the festival heart of 24H Centrum, you can sing along to the winning song of the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest: Waterloo!

Popup Choir is the place for everyone to enjoy singing. Every event, a fantastic pop song gets the spotlight, and you learn to sing that song polyphonic. In this way, as an audience, you are also immediately a performer. No experience necessary. Success guaranteed!

Waterlooplein goes all out: with performances, catwalk and night market (Festival HQ)

Waterlooplein is open again after an ambitious renovation. The opening celebration on May 14 will include music, speeches and performances (12:00-14:00), a catwalk with market vendors who will be showing what they have in store (between 14:00-20:00) and a lively night market until the late evening.

Surprise live performance

Come to the Oude Stadshart between 12:00 and 16:00 and follow the music! A swinging band takes you along special shops and terraces and sets the street upside down.

Green Light District discovery tour

Time to get to know the Red Light District in a new way during this green and sustainability-themed tour through Amsterdam's most notorious neighbourhood. 

Treasure Room historical amateur film screenings

The Amsterdam City Archives presents an afternoon full of special amateur films from the 1920-1980 period in Amsterdam. This will be an enchanting film trip back in time: from skating images from 1929 and images of the Liberation to the wild 60s and the celebration of 700 years of Amsterdam.

UvA celebrates: Stories of Amsterdam

Wonders of pilgrimage, Nieuwmarkt riots, nightlife, migration and much more awaits at VOX-POP on the Binnengasthuisterrein. Scientists will shed light on the surprising aspects of Amsterdam's cultural and scientific past and present. Get acquainted with known, unknown and sometimes very personal histories of Amsterdammers during this walking tour. These stories show where some of the differences in the city come from, but also that Amsterdammers have a lot in common with one another. Three historical themes serve as a starting point: migration, WWII and the history of colonisation and slavery.

Reguliers Celebrates: Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final

During 24H Centrum, the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Turin. To celebrate the Grand Final, Reguliersdwarsstraat will transform into one big street party, where everyone celebrates and sings along with the performers. Buy a ticket or come after 23:00 for a great (free) afterparty to remember!

De Wallen (The Red Light District) storytelling evening

Everyone thinks they know something about the Red Light District (De Wallen). But what would happen if we let this neighbourhood speak for itself? Hear funny, interesting and moving stories from a variety of storytellers including the bartender, the neighbour, the police officer and the coffee shop owner. This special storytelling event includes live music.

Splendor: get closer to the music

Splendor is a club for all kinds of music, conceived and founded by 50 top musicians and their audience. Musicians and audiences come closer together here; they enter through the same door and meet at the same bar.
