Off the record in Amsterdam

Each year more and more bands participate in Record Store Day, causing fans to queue up and grab limited edition independent album releases, or, as has become more common in recent years, to collect one-off reissues of heritage rock acts (Bowie, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc). But the success of the event stretches way beyond simple retail alone, as a host of Dutch and international acts stage free sessions and concerts in (and outside) record shops around the city.

The complete event programme will be confirmed on the Record Store Day website. In 2017, just some of the participating shops in Amsterdam included Concerto, Fame, Distortion, Rush Hour Records and Velvet Music.
