In the fortified town of Naarden, photographic work can be seen at different historical locations. Most works have not been showcased before in the Netherlands. Work of 50 photographers can be seen, a.o. Stephan Vanfleteren, Koos Breukel, Robin de Puy and Ernst Coppejans.

A worldwide premiere is a selection of the American photographer Remsen Wolff (1940 – 1998) from his recently discovered archive. For the first time his loving portraits of transvestites, transgenders and transsexuals can be seen. Wolff created this series ‘All American Girls’ in his studio in New York in the 1990s.

Before the invention of photography, the Dutch Masters captured people and landscapes with their paintings. FotoFestival Naarden has the unique opportunity to show a number of rarely seen paintings by Dutch Masters from the Golden Age. Next to these Dutch Masters 5 Van Goghs will be presented.

During the Festival numerous activities take place, like meet&greets with photographers, workshops, etc.
