Outsider art and textiles
The works selected for this exhibition provide insight into the diversity of how textiles are handled. Different working methods can be seen: sewing, knitting, drawing, woven and knotting. Fabrics, threads and other materials have been incorporated into collages and old material has been upcycled. The use of prefabricated fabrics with their colors and patterns forces the artists to react intuitively. Fabrics can be stiff, coarse, soft and fragile. They are palpable, can scratch or flatter the skin.
The exhibition is curated by Ute Christiane Hoefert.
