Magical light and floral beauty
Lida Sherafatmand grew up in Iran. In the early 1990s, she was given shelter in Malta as a political refugee. Here she made a name for herself as a painter, poet and writer. Her work has now been exhibited in more than twenty countries. Her paintings almost always show a soft, fairytale-like world. Infinite amounts of flowers dance across the canvas. The subjects are often socially engaged. The use of 'magic light' and ancient symbols contributes to their meditative effect.
In WONDERLAND you can also admire the giant flower sculptures made of paper and textiles by Alisa Lis. The colorful flowers form a beautiful combination with the paintings.
