A little bit of Japan in Amsterdam

One of the world's most influential post-Impressionist painters, drew plenty of inspiration from Japanese art collecting and copying prints, and discussing their aesthetic qualities with other artists. Over 40 works by Van Gogh himself, plus up to 50 pieces, as well as an extensive selection of materials detailing Japanese artists and art lovers' pursuit of their hero.

Between 23 March and 24 June 2018 you can also visit Van Gogh & Japan every Saturday evening. View the exhibition undisturbed between 7 and 9 pm and listen to the experts. They will explain what is so Japanese about Van Gogh's works.
