Portraits at the Museum Van Loon
The Berlin-based Dutch artist, Iris van Dongen is a rising star of the art world, whose portraits in charcoal and pastel have a beautiful, brooding quality. Her primarily female subjects often have the allure of a modern film noir heroine. The Thérèse Schwartze Award was established in 1919 to honour Dutch portraitists and celebrate women in the art world.
