Everyone a photographer

Bringing together more than 130 photos, photo albums and cameras, Everyone a photographer takes the viewer back to the end of the nineteenth century when the burgeoning media of photography was beginning a new direction. The invention of smaller cameras made it possible for special moments to be recorded. Photography curator Mattie Boom illustrates how amateur photography brought about profound changes in visual culture and explains why amateur photographs are the 'missing link' in the history of photography.
