Art forms in nature

Fondly known as ‘the German Darwin’, evolutionary biologist Ernst Haeckel was also a talented draughtsman and painter. Aside from discovering, describing and naming thousands of new species, he also mapped a genealogical tree relating all life forms. The focus of this exhibition is the collaborative work he made with Adolf Giltsch, Kunstformen der Natur. Together they produced 100 lithographs, a selection of which can be seen here.
