Inspired by a poem by Tsering Woeser that suggests anything can become a weapon, A Sheet of Paper Can Become a Knife considers that concept and how this can happen without warning or reason. Curator Selene Wendt uses this apt metaphor to startling effect to bring together ten artists representing different countries and disciplines, all of whom are connected by narratives of violence.

The artists are: Naiza Khan, Pakistan; Teresa Margolles, Mexico; Regina José Galindo, Guatemala; David Goldblatt, South Africa; FX Harsono, Indonesia; Amar Kanwar, India; Cildo Meireles, Brazil; Zanele Muholi, South Africa; Oscar Muñoz, Colombia; and Newsha Tavakolian, Iran.
