The residency program offers artists access to studios, technical workshops, the library, collections and a working budget. In addition, residents can request feedback and support from internationally acclaimed artists, curators and theorists.
Artists often gain extensive international exposure during their residency at the Rijksakademie. As a result, their work often appears in museums, galleries, collections and important international exhibitions like the Venice Biennale and Art Basel after their residency. This includes artists like Piet Mondriaan and Karel Appel, and more recently Fiona Tan, Guido van der Werve and Folkert de Jong.
All resident artists will present their latest work during RijksakademieOPEN, held from 30 November to 1 December 2013. The Rijksakademie is also open to the public during Museumnacht on 2 November 2013.
